Ahoy, mateys! We be getting ready for a Pirate class at Richey Woods Friday night, so young David begetting himself two pirate tattoos in the spirit of the evening. Gun show? I be havin’ your tickets to the gun show right here, matey.

Chris, on the other hand, defines “grog” as “a large serving of caffeine before going into the woods at 8pm with an under-slept two-year-old”.

We started the evening with a campfire and s’mores. Because really, what better way to spend an evening than intentionally putting windpipe-sized balls of pure sugar onto long, sharp, pointy sticks and then sticking them into an open fire?

OK, OK. So the s’mores were worth it…and awesome. Emily ate a plain marshmallow and declared, “This tastes like summer.”

At least we be havin’ some parental supervision. Gar.

Oh, what a feeling! After a late night in the woods, Chris still got up early Saturday for a 17 mile run, and then we finally got our new Prius! Emily got a big kick (clearly) out of being able to say the she was the one who would be the primary driver
