We used to think we were tough and could handle the hot weather, but when it’s this humid, we turn into a bunch of whiny babies. Actually, David tolerates the heat way better than we do.
So what did we do? We did venture outside so we could go to the store and buy a Wii, which now allows us to play games inside the house that are supposed to make us feel like we’re outside the house. Ironic, hun?
This was a pretty good week, if not very very busy. We had a great weekend, though, seeing everything from awesome trains and Lego models on Friday to hanging out at the Kellers’ house Saturday night and just hanging around on Sunday. Class is almost done, vacation is almost here… and we’ll be ready.

For the bargain price of $2 per rider, Emily and David took a spin on the “Little Smilin’ Choo-Choo”, which was really a John Deere riding mower with a bunch of cars attached to it. The conductor was really cool, though. He said “All Aboard!”, though he should have said “Both Aboard!” because we were the only two on the train for this round. Here Emily is laughing hysterically because we just barely managed to pass a guy on a Rascal scooter

David got to pick the seats; we could not have been farther away from the conductor if we’d tried

For a route that took us around the school parking lot, behind the building to tour the HVAC unit, and out front to pass the school’s marquis, he did manage to make Emily a little queasy with all the tight little twists and turns he made. I think he was having a ball, though, so snickering aside, it was pretty cute

They launched a total of eight, including a guy with no basket, just a chair with his feet dangling below him

What? Don’t you normally associate a big pink elephant holding a martini glass in its trunk with your friendly neighborhood liquor store?

Saturday night we headed up to Jon and Christine’s for a party, and thank goodness the Zembrodts were there, too, or we would have been the only people who brought our own (sippy) cups. Sara and Toby dig into drinks and chips

David and Jake do a little roughhousing in the hopes that one or both of them will sleep late in the morning (note: we probably won, since David slept until almost 9:15 on Sunday, bless his heart)
