Thursday Emily was back at the Zoo (this time with her IMA peeps). Tammy shows Lora and Sara a rockhopper penguin. They both agreed that the zoo’s behind-the-scenes areas are way more exciting than the IMA’s.

A gentoo is not terribly impressed by either one of them, but Lora and Sarah wanted to bring it back with us

Amazing! A koala is actually awake and we didn’t have to wade through 4700 other people to see it!

You know how sometimes, with kids, you just have to pick your battles? At 8:45 on a Sunday morning, I just didn’t think it was necessary to argue with him if he wanted to wear his (too small) slippers on the bike ride we were about to take. Go ahead, dude. Show everyone how ridiculous you look

To his credit, he was a gem for 90 minutes while we were out riding. He apparently slipped a little, though, because his shirt rode up and the rest of him seems to have slouched down. But he’s still wearing the slippers, by God

And now he’s getting the slipper wet. Maybe we should be glad that at least he’s wearing shoes in the first place. I suppose we’ll have that fight one of these days

He’s very big on helping us “water the plants”. Nevermind that on Friday night we got about 2 inches of rain in the span of a couple of hours. These bushes sure do look thirsty
