The much-anticipated 33rd annual running of the 500 Festival Mini Marathon brought Sara and Kevin to Indy for the weekend (along with 34097 other people). The weather turned out to be beautiful, and some of us ran very well. Some of us were foolish and pushed our way through injuries, but at the end we all finished and could then focus on enjoying each other’s company and eating poorly at every opportunity (both of which we did very much). And now there are bigger goals to focus on: everyone mark your calendars for the Marine Corps Marathon in DC on October 26th. 26.2 miles, and Team Hansen/Sherry is taking it on!

Chris bottled homebrew one night this week and (of course) spilled some on the floor. Gus, always helpful and ever-present, was ready to clean up the mess. He cleaned up for over 20 minutes. I am not making this up

We were getting a little concerned after a while, because there was a fair amount of beer saturated in the towel. He took care of that problem. I have never seen tis dog so focused on a task (other than licking himself)

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a bronze sculpture to sit on, so this one in front of the Indianapolis Convention Center (where the Mini Expo was) did nicely

He warmed up to them (figuratively, not literally) after a bit and decided they were pretty cool (literally and figuratively)

Uncle Kevin got him up, dressed (and matching!), fed, and drove to the race to cheer us on. Was there ever a doubt that he couldn’t handle a two year old?
