We visited with the Zembrodts on Friday (and ate cheeseburgers!), watched and walked in a parade on Saturday, and took the dog for a spin at the Speedway on Sunday. We worked in the garden, took some naps, and relaxed for about 10 minutes this weekend. Both Chris and Emily ran Sunday morning, though we’re winding down in preparation for next weekend, when we tackle the Mini and Team Sherry all at once. It the meantime, it’s getting harder and harder to get David to come inside. I suppose that’s a good thing (at least we don’t have to watch Cars every single night anymore)

The Woodruff Place Lawn Chair Brigade, and they actually do march in formation, too. The best thing about these guys is that you know someone thought this idea up one night as they were all just sitting around drinking at someone’s house. The fact that they all agreed that it was a good idea (and have now participated in several local parades) makes it even better

Mr TTT, a balloon by Miami company Friends With You. That’s all I can say about this, since I don’t really get it

Yard gnomes (this one’s for you, Sarah!) I especially like the little baby gnome on the left, hanging out on the big gnome’s back

David hanging out afterwards, waiting for Mommy to make her way back to the west si-ide. He found some dandelions and promptly crushed them in his hands

This was perhaps the most stressful race we’ve ever participated in (imagine having to keep your dog away from the thousands of other dogs that were there, because you have no idea if he’s going to bite them or sniff them in inappropriate places) but once we got out on the track, things settled down

OK. I don’t really know what to think about this. It’s not a dog, it’s a miniature pony. You’re not fooling anyone, really. But it’s a service pony, so it does good deeds. But it’s wearing shoes, and I don’t mean horseshoes, I mean sneakers. Sketchers sneakers. Do I make fun of it, or do I praise it for helping people in need of assistance or companionship?

Anna chauffered David for a little while, but she was still cool enough to get a phone call while on our walk
