The weekend started out sunny (but cold) as we kidded ourselves into thinking we could work in the garden. Chris did some plowing, but it ended there. Well, we did buy a bag full of seeds, but they’re still in the bag and may not come out for at least another week. Everyone was in good spirits all weekend long, though, so the cold and the rain were manageable. We even took a spur-of-the-moment trip to the Zoo on Sunday and walked through the drizzle to see the animals. David was especially interested in the tigers, the dolphins, the meerkats, and the water in the shark tank. Can’t keep that kid dry for anything…

Five seconds earlier, the lion was doing a flemehn behavior, when they smell something and then make a very funny scrunchy face. We were just thankful that she was awake and moving around for our sake. Later we tried to find The Lion King movie at the store, thinking David might enjoy it, but no luck. Apparently Disney is going to make us wait for the next time they have a Special Edition 14 Disc Set For A Limited Time Only Buy Now!

He loved the jiggly suspension bridge. Couldn't have cared less about the lion or the rhinos on either side of the bridge, but he did run back and forth at least a dozen times

"These animals may bite." We never could figure out why the emus are almost always at the fence, nibbling at the sign

The "two finger, no splashing" rule goes right out the window when David gets near the water, no matter how hard Emily tries to keep him in line

Really he was way more interested in the water itself than the sharks swimming in it
